Well done the Greek branch for persevering

Biker Down!
Would you know what to do ?
After hosting the Biker Down event, at our monthly meeting, we left with a feeling that we might be in less of a useless panic if something terrible happened whilst we are all out on a ride

Calne Bike Meet 29th July 2023
After being postponed for 2 years, Calne Bike Meet drew huge crowds last year, and an amazing variety of motorcycles

Royal Enfield UK Technology Centre
We were invited to the research and development centre in Bruntingthorpe.
After an interesting tour of the centre we were very well looked after with food and refreshments.
Then we got to see Project origin being ridden. A working replica of the 1901 Royal Enfield.

Wessex Midsummer Vintage Show
The weather wasn't too cooperative and Sunday was Fathers Day but we had a good attendance and a grand assortment of bikes at this event over both days. A special thanks to Rob Wells for playing two excellent sets for us and all who joined in with the entertainment and creating our buffet.
We had a special thanks from the organisers, for adding to the show. They asked us to to return next year.
I have also met some of the organisers since the event and it appears that we have also been asked to return via visitors comments.

Market Lavington Vintage Meet 15th - 16th July 2023
An annual event for us, usually combining some of our group taking part in other aspects of the show

The First Royal Enfield

Project Origin, the recreation of the long lost first Royal Enfield motor bicycle of 1901, the world's first production motorcycle, was ridden in Arrow Valley Park, Redditch, with the important role of baton bearer for the Commonwealth Games and it travelled a 2 miles route whilst carrying the baton, ridden by Gordon May. The 8:00 a.m start meant that we were on the road at 5:00 a.m but it was well worth the effort.
The South Midlands branch had also created a very good Royal Enfield exhibition in Forge Mill Needle Museum. This was also symbolic as Royal Enfield also began in a needle mill
Royal Enfield also holds the title of the world's longest continued production model with the Royal Enfield Bullet.

Somerset Festival of Transport 2023
Another full weekend. Both days with opportunities for the performers in our group
Other Hobbies and Events

Some of us play in bands, race cars, build stuff, sew, knit, dance, and even pretend to be athletes
White Horse Classic & Vintage Show

White Horse Classic & Vintage Show
This will always be a poignant reminder of friends.
Nigel had been given weeks to live and had found the strength to not only make it to the show but, also to join Rob on stage for a few numbers.
We did not know this would be his last gig (he passed away 8 days later) but he was very happy to have the chance to be on stage on the day.
R.I.P. Nigel

Later in the day, we had a chance to join in with The Red Bandits.
Finely tuned Gazoos, a bit of foot stomping, and some fine backing vocals were provided by members of the South Wiltshire branch.
We finished off with our own impromptu conga to the tune of
Viva Las Vegas
